Riang'a Addresses Citizens |
When he started his fight for a transparent, accountable and
straight forward leadership in Bomachoge Borabu constituency, many said he
would soon back down and cow out.
Three years later “Hon. Riang’a as many refer to him has stood
his ground that all leaders must always be brought to account to every penny
that Kenyans pay as tax. He has maintained that all he would like to see is a
people who are empowered and given whatever they have been promised.
Speaking to Lethal via the phone, Riang’a insists that
whatever he is doing and has been doing is in no way a way to further any
political ambitions or to discredit any administration but rather to ensure
that his people get their better portion of the bargain.
“Whatever I have been doing is not in any way intended to
further any personal ambitions. NO! I want to ensure that the people of
Bomachoge get what we were promised by the leaders we elected, we cannot
continue living on false promises each and every electioneering period.” He
said.
Lethal contacted the Business man after it emerged that some
of the citizens were arrested and intimidated for attending one of his forums
in the constituency recently.
He confirmed the incident but said however that the OCPD and
the police denied any knowledge of the alleged arrests when he visited their
offices at Magena Police Station Tuesday.
Distributing copies of his dossier |
“Today as promised, my lawyer Jason Ondabu and I went to
magena police station to enquire about the 15 arrested residents of Bomachoge
Borabu who were arrested reading our 25 page document that reveals massive
looting of our CDF funds. However the officers denied any knowledge of the
same. We then went on to distribute more copies of the dossier.” He said on a
message to the lethal.
“Intimidations cannot stop a rightful thinking individual from
seeking answers and accountability to how the Kenyan tax payer’s money is
spent.” He adds during his phone interview with lethal.
Tension has been brewing within the constituency after Riang’a
released a document he referred to as a dossier that he claimed contained
evidence of mass corruption in the constituency. He has since circulated the
dossier within the constituency and has made several trips to the Ethics and
Anti-corruption commission to petition the same.
