NASA MUST HAVE A PARALLEL TALLYING CENTER DUE TO SUSPICIONS AND MISTRUST IN THIS COUNTRY

SUSPICIONS AND MISTRUST IN THIS COUNTRY FORCES NASA TO HAVE A PARALLEL TALLYING CENTER

By Armstrong K. Abala

In a country where trust has diminished and betrayal has had an upper hand, I do not find it out of order for the opposition's National Super Alliance to hint at having a parallel tallying center for the presidential results in this coming elections.

Results have in the past been changed and altered severally before they are announced at the electoral commission’s tallying center. Aspirants especially those holding government positions set up their agents and mercenaries to tamper with election results before they reach the electoral commission.

This must be stopped in this country Kenya. We cannot afford to always go into fraudulent elections that do not give the exact will of the people but that of few individuals who want to cling into power.

The opposition Alliance, The National Super Alliance will not be the first to do this in the world. In the United States, elections are declared by the media itself because they are so transparent that they cannot be disputed.

We have seen the same done in Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia and the result was that the regimes that had clung to power for decades were thrown out because the Opposition was clear to guard its votes.

The notion that a parallel tallying center for the opposition will cause chaos is stupid and uninformed. The same Jubilee government did a parallel tally during the 2013 general election in this very country and no chaos were reported.

This disparate attempt by the Jubilee government to paint NASA as a violent filled alliance will not get them anywhere at all. Jubilee needs to start telling Kenyans what they have delivered within the 5 years Kenyans handed them to run the country.

Demanding to know who NASA’s flag bearer is is not a duty given to Jubilee by Kenyan citizens. It is upon NASA to decide when to name its presidential candidate. And for Jubilee to understand, NASA supporters from the look of things don’t seem so frustrated to know who the flag bearer will be.

This country is filled with suspicions and mistrusts that cannot be fixed within a day when a few factions of the country is so adamant to suppress the larger part of Kenya. This country belongs to more than 43 tribes and must be run as such.
