WE ARE NOT IN THIS COUNTRY BY INVITATION; WE ARE IN KENYA BY RIGHT.

We are not in this country by invitation; we are in Kenya by right and we shall not fail to defend our space.

By Armstrong K. Abala

Some of my friends (sorry to say Kikuyu friends) just said to me that there will be war if Raila Odinga wins the 17th September 2017 election. Which war? I asked. I have made it clear to them that we shall not be intimidated into submission.

Who told them we can't fight that war? We have made huge strides in our quest for freedom and we shall not be boxed into submission to any dictatorial regime. We are not in this country by invitation. We are in Kenya by right and we shall not fail to defend our space.

Whether Raila wins this election or not, it must be very clear that we can never be silenced by mere threats. We shall defend our space and freedom to speech at all cost. We cannot be cowed.

If scaring people to submission is what Moses Kuria and his ilk are fueling, they shall be in for a rude one. We might not hold instruments of power but our freedom of speech is intact. Do not take that for granted.

With the years we have after independence some people still believe that this country belongs to a certain community? It is time you started opening your minds ad realized that we have more than 45 tribes who lay claim to this country.

Even if your tribe or person is in power, remember they depend on the taxes that other tribes and people pay.

Everybody can decide to lay claim on the nation, and when that happens we can never redeem ourselves from the blood shed that can be experienced in our Nation. It is reckless for a learned individual to even think that without their man at the helm then they are doomed.

Recently i took an issue by a Member of Parliament from the same Kikuyu community who openly amid cheers of hundreds of his community members in his county, declared to circumcise with scissors members of a certain community beginning with their leader Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga.

Since his remarks, he has  any charges against him, why? because he has protections from his community members who run the government and state agencies while the same agencies run around arresting and charging poor Kenyans with claims of false hate speech remarks.

I retaliate, that the Country Kenya is a sovereign Nation with over 43 tribes and all of us live here not as a form of invitation but as a form of RIGHT. Respect must be a two way traffic. We must respect each other's space and freedoms.

                                                    GOD BLESS KENYA.
