MIGUNA: SIMPLE COMEDIAN, WHOSE COMEDY HAS BORED THE ELECTORATE.
By Armstrong K. Abala
I do not support Mike Mbuvi Sonko for Nairobi Governor, but
when I saw remarks by one of the candidates for Nairobi Gubernatorial race
Miguna Miguna, I could not fail but question why the remarks.
Miguna Miguna has an ego that is not required in politics. I
do not understand why he cannot tolerate any person that opposes or challenges
his thinking.
He did block me on Twitter, and that did not come before he
threw tantrums and abuses at me for asking him straight why he had to always refer
to his opponents with harsh words that cannot be printable at times.
Miguna has blocked quite many people who differ with him on
policies and his unorthodox ways in which he sells his ideas.
In this occasion Miguna was weighing on tweet by one Ciku
Njeru who was accusing Mike Sonko of using palatable and unprintable words on
live radio toward Caroline Mutoko, when he was challenged to explain how his
hand out philosophy had changed lives in the capital city. The lady tagged
Miguna on the specific tweet.
This left me wondering whether this is the correct way that we
need our leaders to seek votes; by abusing and denting images towards each
other.
I then decided to inquire from Miguna, if he thought his
format of vote hunting was good. 'Seriouslyy speaking, is @MigunaMiguna normal. Can he pass a
point without abuses. Is this the way to get votes?'
My ooh my, the response I got; 'Calling a man who sells
illicit and dangerous drugs to our innocent kids a "drug peddler" is
not an insult unless you have no brain.'
left me giggling
and wondering what really is wrong with Miguna Miguna. Before I could respond,
Miguna blocked my account from following and seeing all his tweets.
Well, I still responded; The idiotic @MigunaMiguna cannot take a challenge from a critic. He intends to lead Nairobi? He blocks me when i ask why he is abusive?
I think Miguna Miguna believes that behaving like Trump of
the USA could win him more votes, that if he used Trump’s style of campaign, he
will have more people to like him. Well Miguna should note the difference
between United States of America and Kenya; Nairobi. These are two different
parts of the world and same policies are likely not going to work.
Come to think of it, Miguna’s manifesto is a total fallacy,
his thoughts are simply not achievable in the city of Nairobi per the current
plan of the city. Take for example the underground train ways he is planning to
construct in the city. Will he bring buildings down to do this?
Miguna should forget the position of Nairobi governor, not
just in 2017 but all his miserable life. He is not the right man for the job,
he is a simple comedian whose comedy has bored the electorate.
