WHAT AN HYPOCRITICAL
WIN FOR MUSEVENI

It goes without an iota of doubt that the hypocritical, National
Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate Yoweri Museveni will extend his 30-year
rule after Uganda’s poll body declared him the winner of the presidential poll.
Of course a straight thinking human being will know that it’s
Museveni who declared himself the winner. It goes without doubt that he
manipulated each and every stage of the electoral process to his own advantage.
The “DEFIANCE” Campaign launched by the main Official opposition
leader Rt. Col Dr. Kizza Besigye seemed not to bare any fruits as it earned him
several arrests and beating from the police who were definitely working on Museveni’s
directives.
Intimidation and harassment of
opposition by police and law enforcement bodies, as well as arrests of supporters
and voters were reported from more than 20 districts. Opposition candidates’
ability to campaign freely was restricted on several instances during the
campaign period.
The Ugandan elections is an example of the rot that the African
leaders have in regards to clinging to clinging to power.
President Museveni |
I see this as an intention to bring back Africa to the “ukoloni
mamboleo”. The rate at which the “OLD GUARD” is moving is highly a bad
influence t the upcoming leaders who will seek to behave like the fellows who
cling to power and refuse to leave.
I do not see the essence of Wasting the taxes and monies of
the Ugandan people to conduct an already determined elections, there is no need
at all to call for an election if the winner is already known, Museveni should restrain
from wasting the government resources let him rule to his death then people can
hold elections.
What I am more amazed by from my observation of the Ugandan elections,
is the manner in which the Electoral Commission of Uganda was openly and
defiantly in support of the incumbent. That to me was preposterous and uncalled
for, this means that Mr. Museveni has control of the whole process all the
electoral laws in Uganda have actually been effected by Mr. Museveni himself.
The incidents that transpired in Uganda should not be allowed
to happen to any other country in Africa at all.
Museveni garnered with 5,617,503 votes, and his main
challenger, Forum for Democratic Change contender (FDC) candidate Kizza
Besigye, came in second after garnering 3, 270, 290 votes.
71-year-old Museveni got 60.7% of the 9, 246, 563 valid votes
while 4-time presidential candidate Besigye garnered 35.37%.
